American singer-songwriter Demi Lovato is recognized for her powerful voice with chart-topper hits like “Sorry Not Sorry” and “Heart Attack”. She used to be a Disney star who played in several television shows and movies. With her outstanding singing ability, Demi Lovato turns to a successful artist who earned many awards.

She was born to a musical family on August 20, 1992 in Albuquerque, New Mexico as the middle child of three. Lovato’s mother and sister are also working in entertainment industry. Demi Lovato already showed her talent since she was a child by performing in popular venues and winning the contests. At the age of 10, she was chosen as the cast of Barney & Friends, a children television series. She also played on bigger series, Prison Break and Just Jordan. In 2008, her name became popular as she starred in Disney’s musical film Camp Rock (2008) and Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam (2010).

Lovato also sang for the soundtrack with Jonas Brothers. She later had a solo tour “Demi Live! Warm Up Tour” and accompanying Jonas Brothers in their tour called “Burning Up Tour” in 2008. Lovato also starred in Disney original movie Princess Protection Program with Selena Gomez. From 2009 to 2011, Demi Lovato played in a television show Sonny with a Chance and made her rose to stardom.

Lovato continues to establish herself as a pop star with another great songs and albums. She released “Don’t Forget”, her first album in 2008 which successfully reached the No. 2 on the Billboard. The success also followed by her second album, “Here We Go Again” (2009) that peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. During the promotion of those albums, Lovato joined Jonas Brother in their tour.

Behind all the fame, Demi Lovato revealed that she battled self-harming issue and eating disorder in 2010. She also went to rehab facility because of her addiction to subscription pills. It was one of her lowest points in life. A year after that, Demi Lovato released the album “Unbroken” which exposed her feelings during the healing progress. It shows in one of the hits, Skyscraper.

She then launched an album “Confident” with the single Cool for the Summer that got massive positive feedback. “Confident” reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200, while the hit single reached No. 11 on the Billboard 100. Her follow-up album entitled “Tell Me You Love Me” in 2017 also got the hype with the single Sorry Not Sorry.  She has won several awards, including five People’s Choice Awards, fourteen Teen Choice Awards, and nominated for two Grammy Awards.

Demi Lovato also took a role as the judge in second session of The X Factor in 2012 alongside Britney Spears and Simon Cowell. Besides singing and acting, Lovato actively engaged in campaign activities to raise awareness against body image and bulimia. Her inspiring story also received recognitions from the US Department of Health for her works to help young people who experienced the same problem as her.
